The NEA award-winning Nora Ephron Book Club’s mission is to build a love of reading among underserved, low-income populations, and expose young people to professionals for whom reading and writing led to successful creative careers. In a series of two-to-six session programs, in schools and community-based settings, well-known actors and writers read from significant works of literature, focusing on the power of story and how it connects to their personal lives.
Since 2010, we’ve reached over 690 students engaging them in the power of the written word. You can read about our events in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and at Lafayette High School in Buffalo. We’ve also recently completed a Book Club program with Back on Track Restart Academy in Brooklyn, NY.
